L0ZER OF THE WEEK

A new tradition on 40OZ sports begins today. Each week we will nominate a 40OZ loser of the week. This will be somewhat creatively deemed as LOZER of the week.

Mark Sanchez - QB - New York Jets

The “San-chise”  has come crashing back down to earth faster then the love for the bubble boy. After a 3-0 start, the talkative Jets have lost 3 games in a row with the help of “Broadway Schmo”. This past week versus the dismal Buffalo Bills with the reincarnation of Danny Kanell at quarterback, Sanchez completed 10 of 29 pass attempts for zero touchdowns and 5 picks. The Jets slashed the Bill’s porous run defense for 318 yards on the ground. These 318 yards rushing yards were the second most ever in a losing effort. Head coach Rex Ryan considered benching Sanchez, but hoped he would learn from this experience. So far Sanchez has regressed and the Jets may have a tough decision to make in the near future.

Yes, Sanchise has reached true lozer status over the past 3 games, but there is no looming decision to be made. He should and will be the starter for the remainder of the season. You start a kid week 1, the worst thing you can do is kill his confidence by benching him. Let’s not forget Peyton’s 1998 rookie campaign where he started all 16 games and went 3-13 with 28 picks. Just sayin’ that worked out.

Aikman went 0-11 as a starter his rookie year. 7-8 his next year. He has 3 SuperBowls…

if Aikman and Peyton won 3 games combinded their first season, then by my math Sanchez is going to win 6 Super Bowls
